Founded on the belief that access to reliable power should not depend on geography, infrastructure, or external conditions, the company develops solutions designed to improve energy resilience for individuals, communities, and organizations. From portable power generation systems to intelligent energy management platforms, Praakrit is building technologies that enable energy access where conventional solutions are limited or unavailable.
Our first products address critical challenges in energy availability and reliability. These include a portable heat-to-electricity generator capable of producing power from externally available heat sources and an intelligent household energy management system designed to maximize energy utilization while maintaining power availability during grid disruptions.
Supported by multiple patents under examination, incubation through the Atal Incubation Centre at IIT Delhi, and funding through both - Angel investors & the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS), Praakrit combines engineering innovation with a long-term commitment to sustainability and energy resilience.

OUR JOURNEY
The journey began with founder Priyank Sharma, whose career spanned working across some of India's most advanced engineering sectors. Starting as a mechanical engineer contributing to the development of India's first Light Combat Aircraft, he later worked across the automotive and semiconductor industries, building a deep understanding of complex, high-reliability technologies.
Yet the inspiration for Praakrit did not come from a lab or boardroom—it came from the Himalayas.
During a trek to the Rupin Glacier, Priyank witnessed firsthand the visible effects of climate change. A glacier that had remained snow-covered for generations stood exposed and diminished. Seeing this transformation in one of the world's most fragile ecosystems was a defining moment, turning climate change from a distant concept into an immediate reality.
Shortly afterward, his son’s birth brought a new sense of purpose. The question was no longer how energy is generated today, but how future generations would access reliable, sustainable power in a changing world.
Driven by this conviction, Praakrit Energy & Technologies was established to develop innovative energy generation, storage, and management technologies that increase energy independence and resilience. Today, the company is building solutions that challenge conventional assumptions about where power can come from and how it can be accessed—creating technologies designed to deliver energy when and where it is needed most.

Priyank Sharma is an engineer and entrepreneur with experience spanning aerospace, automotive, and semiconductor industries. He began his career contributing to the development of India's first Light Combat Aircraft before expanding into advanced engineering roles across multiple technology sectors.
Driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to address climate change, Priyank founded Praakrit Energy & Technologies to develop resilient energy solutions that increase energy independence and sustainability. Under his leadership, the company is building next-generation technologies for energy generation, storage, and intelligent energy management, with the goal of making reliable power accessible wherever it is needed.
Dr. Madhav Acharya is an accomplished energy technology leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning industry, startups, research, and government. Throughout his career, he has focused on developing and deploying innovative technologies that address the global challenges of energy security, climate change, and sustainability.
Most recently, Dr. Acharya served as Director at the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations within the U.S. Department of Energy, where he played a leadership role in advancing large-scale clean energy initiatives and accelerating the commercialisation of transformative energy technologies. He is also a Breakthrough Energy Fellow, recognized for his contributions to the development of next-generation energy solutions.
As a Strategic Advisor to Praakrit Energy & Technologies, Dr. Acharya provides guidance on technology strategy, product development, commercialisation, and long-term innovation. His deep expertise across the global energy ecosystem helps strengthen the company's mission of advancing energy independence through resilient and sustainable energy technologies.
